Paul A. McMath, 97, of Orbisonia, died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon.

Born April 17, 1903, in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, he was the son of the late Charles 0. and Tressa (McMullen) McMath. He was married to Hazel R. McCann Nov. 27, 1938, in Jamestown. Mrs. McMath preceded him in death March 19, 1978.

One son survives from a previous marriage, Calvin Fultz of Dauphin, along with two step-children: Edward McCann and Donald McCann, both of Sharon. One granddaughter and several step-grandchildren also survive, along with a number of nieces and nephews. One stepdaughter, Betty Samas, preceded him in death.

Mr. McMath was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shade Gap, R.D. He was first employed at Westinghouse Corp. in Sharon. From 1948-1956, he worked for the East Broad Top Railroad and Coal Company in Rockhill Furnace, then from 1956 until 1960, he worked at the Steel Mills in Burnham.

He returned to the East Broad Top in 1960 and became a conductor in 1970. His last run with the EBT was in 1999.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Shade Gap, R.D., with the Rev. George Koharchik officiating.

Interment will be made at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Shade Gap, R.D.
