Helen Howell, 68, of Brighton, died Oct. 25 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital.

She was born Sept. 16, 1930, in Detroit, the daughter of Andrew and Margaret (Dey) McMath. She was married to Erven Howell.

Mrs. Howell was and editorial assistant for University Microfilms, Ann Arbor for 12 years; member of the Lakelands Golf and Country Club; Livingston County Wildlife and Conservation Club.

Survivors include three sons, Eddie of Seattle, Wash., Kirk of Novi and Ward McGinn of Brighton; a daughter, Kellie Sovoda of Brooklyn; nine grandchildren; sisters Margaret Nordbeck and Jenny Durst. Mr. Howell preceded her in death in 1987. One brother, Robert McMath, also preceded her in death.

Funeral service will be held Oct. 30, 1 p.m.. from the Bell-Borek Funeral Home, 7425 M-36, Hamburg, with the Rev. Carl F. Welser officiating. Visitation will start at noon.

Contributions suggested to St. Joseph Hospital Pulmonary Research. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
