Camillus F. (Werner) McMath, 94, formerly of Germany and Shade Valleys, died at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2002, at the William Penn Nursing Center, Lewistown, where she had been a patient for the past few days. She had been residing at the home of her daughter, Kathy Donaldson, Lewistown, since having a heart attack in 1998.

Born Sept. 8, 1908, in Derry, Westmoreland County, she was a daughter of the late Francis and Clara (Hagie) Werner. She married Samuel J McMath of Shade Valley April 3, 1929, beginning a 63-year union. Mr. McMath preceded her in death Nov. 8, 1992.

Nine children survive; Mrs. Eugene (Mary Margaret) Yohn, Shade Valley; Samuel J. McMath Jr., Germany Valley; Mrs. Merle (Elizabeth Anne) McClure, Star Lane, Lewistown; Francis (Frank) W. McMath, Bellefonte; John R. McMath, Shade Gap; F. James McMath, Germany Valley; Gerald E. McMath, Shade Valley; and Mrs. Donald (Martha B.) Cullen and Mrs.Woods (Kathleen M.) Donaldson, both of Lewistown. There a 38 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Five sisters and one brother survive; Bernice McMath and Clara McMath, both of Shade Valley; Jane Oeschger, Derry; Elizabeth Smeltzer, Pitcairn; Mary Janet Werner, Sister of Mercy. Pittsburgh: and Robert Werner, Derry. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Patrick McMath; three brothers, Joseph Werner, William Werner and James Werner and an infant sister, Rita Werner.

Mrs. McMath was a very active member of St. Mary�s Catholic Church, Shade Gap, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild. In her early years as a wife and homemaker, she belonged to the Huntingdon County Homemakers and the Huntingdon County Farm Women. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and family members on bus trips. Mr. and Mrs. McMath also took several trips west, visiting relatives in Iowa, going on to California and returning through the southern states. Before her eyesight recently failed, she loved to read and crochet, especially making afghans for her family.

A funeral Mass will be conducted at 11 am. Saturday, Dec. 14, at St. Catherine�s Roman Catholic Church, Mount Union, with the Revs. George Koharchik and Elwood Figurelle as co-celebrants. Interment will be made in St. Mary�s Catholic Cemetery, Shade Gap.
