About Mike

My name is Mike Gifford.  I have been researching my family history since 1996 when my daughter, Rachel, was born.  I have been working on several versions of my website since about 1997 with this being the latest attempt.

I received my B.S. in Computer Science & Secondary Education Mathematics from Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA and earned a M.S. in Computer Science from Shippensburg University.  I taught one year of high school math in southern Maryland and have worked as a computer analyst for several government contractors and two hospitals.  I'm currently the Manager of Technology Support at Kutztown University.

I live in Orwigsburg, PA with my wife, Janice, and our three children.  I was born in Washington, DC but my research has been mostly in Pennsylvania, New York and Rhode Island.
